Surah/Quran Al-Hijr (سورة الحجر) - Magnificent Recitation That Soothes the Heart and Protects from Evil.

Surah Al Hijr, also called in French Surah The Valley of Stones, is the 15th surah of the Quran. Its name refers to a region located in northern Arabia. Composed of 99 verses, the surah was revealed during the Meccan period of the prophecy of Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him). Surah The Valley of Stones is the last of the six surahs beginning with Alf, Lam, Ra. It relates the story of the people of Hijr and the sad fate of the disbelievers who deny the message of the Prophet Mohamed (peace and blessings of God be upon him), while mentioning the fate of the different tribes including Lût. Allah also mentions in the surah the eternity of the Quran and its immunity against any attempt at human falsification.

Revealed in Mecca, Surah Al Hijr occupies 54th place in the chronological order of revelations, just after Surah Yusuf (Joseph).

Context of the revelation of Surah (15)
According to the style and themes of the surah, we can deduce that the proclamation of the latter took place at the same period as surah Ibrahim, that is to say at the last phase of the Meccan period of Mohamed (peace and blessing of God be upon him). Indeed, the surah repeatedly mentions warnings addressed to the disbelievers in Mecca who had become increasingly hostile. In addition, the surah comes to console and reassure the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) in order to encourage him to hold firm in his divine mission, when he had felt tired in the face of the persecution of the disbelievers of Quraysh, who persist in their opposition.

Themes of the surah
The 15th Surah of the Quran begins by warning all the disbelievers who have denied the divine message of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him) and persecuted the new converts.

Surah Al Hijr, brings comfort and encouragement to Mohamed (peace and blessings of God be upon him), so that he continues to preach the word of God. The surah mentions brief arguments proving the monotheism of Allah.
