A common accusation levied against naughty dog is that their games are only as powerful and effective as their narratives. This makes sense on the outset considering that their games usually rely on character development, flashy graphics, and high budget action sequences that make you feel as though you're playing through an interactive summer blockbuster. However, since going back through the Uncharted games for these critiques I can't help but feel as though this estimation is limited. What I mean is that there's a lot more to naughty dog's games than just the narrative, and I think that Uncharted 2 is a perfect example. You see, Uncharted 2's story is crap. In addition, the original Uncharted story is crap. These games did not claw their way into gamers' hearts and Memories by way of magnificent storytelling.
