I grew up eating White Castle but like many other people, had not heard of the Oklahoma Onion Burger until Kenji made a few videos on it and then subsequently came out with his NYT piece on it.
It is such a fascinating burger that is in contrast with what I usually enjoy: a double smashed burger with a nicely toasted bun. The Oklahoma Onion burger is squishy, soft, and the entirety of the burger almost melds into one. It truly is a great burger not to be compared to other burgers haphazardly.
