Here is a short video how I removed an antenna with broken tip and replaced with a stubby. I drill a small hole in the center of the broken piece and remove the connector with an extractor. For the new antenna, make sure the adapter is #6 and 1/4" or it won't work. I had to return and repurchase the correct adapter. After, it's just plug and play.
