In this video, I open up about my experience with Cotard's Delusion, a rare and often misunderstood mental disorder I struggled with from my late teens into my early twenties. Cotard's Delusion, also known as "Walking Corpse Syndrome" (a label that is both insensitive and sensationalised), made me believe that I was already dead and living in a dream state. For years, this delusion controlled my life, affecting my interactions with others and distorting my perception of reality.
I dive into what it was like to live with this distorted mindset, how it impacted my relationships, and how I eventually found a way to break free. I also talk about the challenges of seeking help, the struggles with self-medicating, and my journey toward better understanding myself.
This video is a personal reflection, shared in the hopes that it might resonate with others who have experienced something similar or help those who want to better understand mental health struggles.
If you or someone you know is struggling with similar thoughts or delusions, I encourage you to seek support - whether through professional help, understanding friends, or your own personal healing journey.
