About a year ago a good friend gave me a nice Cherry wood log. It was a tree from his grandmother's house. I milled it up and sealed the end for future use. Around a year later my friend was about to have his 60th birthday. So I thought, what could be better than to make him something from his grandmother's tree. I thought about it for a while and came up with a pepper grinder with a Celtic knots. I have made pepper grinders with Celtic knots in the passed, so it should be no problem. I took the slabs in the shop and started to mill them up into useable pieces. Glued them up and cut it into a block then an octagon block on the Table saw. Cut some slots in the block for the wooden inlay pieces for Celtic Knots. Put it on the lathe and formed a pepper grinder.
