It’s the sound of laughter that stands out most when five-year-old Carter Preddie is with his dad. “He’s the fun dad,” says Carter’s mom Tremesha. “Terrence makes games out of everything, and I absolutely love that about my husband.” For Father’s Day, the Preddies are looking forward to visiting family members. Tremesha says she expects to hear the laughter when Terrence and Carter are together. While knowing there are always the medical concerns, Tremesha says, “Terrence has this amazing ability to make Carter forget. He remembers to make space for him just to be a kid.”

She values Riley in much the same way. “Riley does more than treat the disease. They care for the whole family. Sometimes it’s just the small things that make the biggest impact for not just the patients, but the parents as well.”
