A video essay look at Breaking Bad's "Fly". The lowest rated episode in the entire series.

In anticipation of El Camino's release, I have been rewatching all of Breaking Bad. Oddly, I had this itch of anticipation approaching s03 e10, remembering that "Fly" was such a polarizing episode.
But I was also far more attentive with this second viewing of the show, and wanted to give Fly a second chance rather than simply writing it off. I was surprised to see that not only was the episode not as weak as I remembered, it's actually incredibly well made, and packed with profoundly resonant moments.

Through the adaptive setup given by Vince Gilligan, outstanding writing of Sam Catlin and Moira Walley-Beckett, and the inspired directing of Rian Johnson, I now see that Breaking Bad might actually be a perfect series. What used to be viewed as the worst episode of the show, now can be see as the eye of the storm.

Seriously, I LOVE this show more than ever now. I always remembered it as great, but after a second watch, it is easily one of my all time favourite series. I truly hope you watch the show if you haven't already - and if you have, to please give s03e10 "Fly" another chance.
