A short clip showing my 1894 Pittler C3 lathe running, and yes, there is lots of noise but it's what they sounded like 130 years ago!.
It's noise is from various gears, worms and belts from the original Victorian era overhead shaft etc, It's universal joint can be seen turning slowly, this is used to power various attachments inc the automatic ball turner and power cross feed attachments which are fitted on but not activated.
The next lathe along is a 1937 Holbrook B8 high precision toolroom lathe followed by a Pittler B2 from c.1895 and then a glimpse of a South Bend 9"
