The Indian Health Service and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are working together to improve the health status of American Indian and Alaska Native veterans. As a result of this shared commitment, an updated Reimbursement Agreement was recently announced that facilitates repayment for health care and related services provided by the IHS to eligible American Indian and Alaska Native veterans.

The Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Denis McDonough, and IHS Director, Roselyn Tso, gathered on November 30, 2023, to affirm their partnership and commitment to American Indian and Alaska Native Veterans. The Principals expressed their dedication to reduce homelessness and provide access to housing for those who are at risk.
