Rishi Sunak will tell Benjamin Netanyahu to “show restraint” in his first direct phone call with the Israeli prime minister since the Iran attack.

Mr Sunak told Parliament he would call Mr Netanyahu to urge caution as Israel considers its retaliation options.

“I will also shortly be speaking to Prime Minister Netanyahu to express our solidarity with Israel in the face of this attack, and to discuss how we can prevent further escalation,” Mr Sunak told MPs. “All sides must show restraint.”
