A verbal spat was reported between Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock when they met on April 17. During the meeting, Netanyahu seemed to have taken objection to the German minister’s remarks on the humanitarian situation in Gaza. The row erupted when Annalena Baerbock accused Israel of “driving Gaza towards a famine”
In response, Baerbock was reportedly shown footage of markets with abundant supplies of food in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip. She was also shown as images of beaches in the coastal territory where Gazans were seen enjoying a hot day on the beach.
