These semi-precious gemstones can be found around and below Lake Superior and I explain where to look, how to find them, how they were formed, and some of the different types. Around 1.2 billion years old, these natural beauties survived multiple Ice Ages as glaciers broke them free of their basalt bedrock, and pushed them into piles while cracking them and rough polishing them.
