Welcome to another update on the BMW E39 530i budget Track Car project. We have fitted an ESS Supercharger kit to the Overtake E39 530i sport, which we now estimate to produce around 300bhp, up from the 230bhp standard. It's safe to say with the huge weight stripped out of the car and the increase in around 70bhp, the car is transformed and really shifts!

The M54 B30 engine is running well, delivering a nice linear power delivery and proving to be great fun to drive. It has an LSD fitted to help with the power delivery and we can't wait to try it out on track. This has been a DIY project (albeit with some very knowledgeable hands at work) and the costs have been kept as low as possible to see what is possible with this left field choice of a track car.
