The Menu - directed by Mark Mylod and starring Nicholas Hoult, Anya Taylor-Joy, and the legendary Ralph Fiennes - is one of the hottest thriller movies of this season, but I've yet to see a chef give their opinion on it. So I decided to watch the film, review, and analyze it myself. We'll go over not just the basic premise and themes in the film, but also it's larger implications and how it relates to other works like the Bear, Burnt, Chefs Table, etc.

Since this movie is being released against the backdrop of big events currently happening in the chef world - the closing of Noma, questioning the relevancy of fine dining/Michelin stars/food journalism, and what part the industry has to play in a more sustainable future - I hope this essay will give you some ammunition to tackle this conversation with your chef and foodie friends!

Mild spoiler alert and thanks for watching! If you enjoyed the video, please leave a thumbs up and subscribe as I'll be posting more content in the upcoming days!
