I recorded this Bugatti Type 51 in two occasion last year: during a Kuno Schaer's track day at Monza Circuit and on the Bernina Pass during the Bernina Gran Turismo weekend last September.

Substantially similar to the Bugatti Type 35B, the Type 51 was considered as the progenitor of the new family of Bugatti racing cars. The most famous drivers who led the T51 to its triumphs were Maurice Trintignant, Louis Chiron and Achille Varzi. The original Type 51 emerged in 1931 and its engine was a 160 hp twin overhead cam evolution of the Roots supercharged 2.3-litre single overhead cam straight-8 found in the Type 35B.
