Motorsport didn't begin with Formula 1, basically as soon as a car had been built, someone was building a second to race it. Pre-war the racing scene was as, if not more, eclectic and exciting as it became afterwards. With everything from Grand Prix cars, to sportscars to 'specials' built for racing from Brooklands to Shelsley Walsh.

Every year these cars, little and large, from the pioneering era of pre-war motorsport come back to the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard to show the youngsters exactly how it should be done!
