Recent studies show that younger generations are the loneliest. With the pervasive use of social media and texting, in-person interactions are dwindling and it seems that young people are feeling it most.

According to studies, loneliness is a crisis affecting many Canadians, with one in four people aged 15 to 24 reporting that they are feeling lonely. It’s believed that ongoing loneliness can even impact physical health more than smoking and obesity. Given the continuation of work from home and our reliance on online communication, loneliness has quickly become a pressing public-health issue.
