This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2024 KIA EV9, 3-row, mid-size electric SUV.
There are three powertrain options for the 2024 KIA EV9 , the RWD model has a 76.1 kWh battery with 370 km/230 miles of range, 215 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
The long range 2024 KIA EV9 RWD model has a 99.8 kWh battery with 489 km/304 miles of range, 201 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
The 2024 KIA EV9 AWD model a 99.8 kWh battery with 451 km/280 miles of range, 379 horsepower and and 516 lb-ft of torque.
The 2024 KIA EV9 offers a modern and upscale interior with plenty of space for passengers, cargo capacity, storage, comfort and updated technology with standard dual 12.3” screens, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a 5” HVAC display. The dual-level floating centre console stretches from the front to the rear seat offering storage for front passengers and cupholders. There is also an available sliding storage console for rear passengers. The 2024 KIA EV9 front seats have an available relaxation mode and power leg rests, there’s quilted stripe, dot and GT-Line patterned seats and select fabrics and carpets are made of partially recycled materials. This is the first model to embrace Kia’s sustainability strategy which aims to phase out the use of leather. There are a few different colour options available like black and grey or black and brown. USB-C outlets are located around the cabin so everyone can charge their devices.
In Canada, all 2024 KIA EV9 models have 7-passenger seating unless you add the premium or GT-Line packages, these are 6-passenger models and come with captain’s chairs. Unfortunately, that’s where many of the extra features are like the dual sunroof, front memory seats, heated and ventilated second row seats, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, a surround view monitor and blind view monitor. The GT-Line package adds additional features like a head up display, remote smart parking assist 2, a power fold and unfold third row, front passenger and 2nd row power leg rests and a second-row console sliding tray.
If you just want to get into a more reasonably priced 2024 KIA EV9 that has 7 seats, in Canada go for the Wind RWD or Land AWD models, they both have some nice features, you get all the standard features plus some key features like a heated steering wheel and a heat pump.
In the US, only two 2024 KIA EV9 models have a bench seat, Light RWD and Wind AWD. All other models have captain’s chairs. The US Wind model opens you up to some nice features like the heat pump, a dual sunroof and a heated steering wheel. That’s the model to get if you want 7-seats. The Land and GT Line models have similar features that are on the Canadian top Land trim with the addition of the packages.

In the US, 2024 KIA EV9 Light RWD $54,900 USD, Light Long Range RWD $59,200 USD Wind AWD $63,900 USD, Land AWD $69,900 USD and GT-Line AWD $73,900 USD.
In Canada, the 2024 KIA EV9 qualifies for the Federal EV rebate of $5,000 and any rebates in participating provinces. In the US, once EV9’s are built in Georgia, they will qualify for the tax credit of $7,500. For EV9 models built in Korea, incentives may be available at Kia dealerships if the vehicle is leased.
