You can put regular fuel in this model but you’ll get a little less horsepower, torque number stays the same.
There is also the standard engine in the 2024 Mazda CX-90, it is the same 3.3L inline 6 turbo but with less power, 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Standard rear-biased AWD.
The 2024 Mazda CX-90 Plug-in hybrid has a 2.5L 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a combined 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque on premium fuel. You can use regular fuel but the horsepower drops a little to 319 horsepower, the torque number stays the same.
JD Power has not yet rated the 2024 Mazda CX-90 but Consumer Reports gives it an overall score of 82/100.
The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander and 2024 Toyota Highlander have a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 264 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Standard AWD in Canada. In the US, FWD and AWD options are available. The second powertrain option on the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander and 2024 Toyota Highlander s a 2.5L 4-cylinder Hybrid matched to an eCVT with a combined 243 horsepower, standard AWD.
The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander also has a more powerful Hybrid Max model with a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 6-speed automatic transmission, a combined 362 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, standard AWD. You can put regular fuel in the Grand Highlander and Highlander.

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse is all new with excellent cargo capacity, it seats up to 8-passengers, it’s one of the biggest in this class. The interior is all up to date with a standard 17.7” diagonal infotainment display and a new 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder, we look forward to driving it soon.

The 2024 Dodge Durango is a comfortable handling vehicle, it’s spacious, the seats are supportive for long drive, there’s plenty of cargo space and the Uconnect touchscreen is intuitive to use. It has excellent towing capacity but the fuel economy isn’t great.

The 2024 Subaru Ascent offers great value, it has a lot of trim options where they offer captain’s chairs or a bench seat. It’s comfortable and offers an open cabin with a comfortable seating position. Fuel economy isn’t great on this model and some complain about the drowny sound of the CVT.

The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas is an excellent vehicle for space, one of the biggest in this class along with the Traverse and Grand Highlander. There is just one powertrain option now, gone is the V6, but we found the turbocharged 4-cylinder to be good. The updated interior is much improved with less hard plastic compared to the previous model.
