"Despite isolation, a cross-cultural connection is built through conversation, cultural learning and improvisation. Ashwaty Chennat explores movement inspired by temporal sound and roots in classical Indian dance (Bharatanatyam) and Alvin Cobb, Jr., draws from Black American music traditions and Carnatic rhythms. Their collaboration is often inspired by their similar stories, specifically the role of mental health in their childhood homes."
