On 12 February 2002, Queen Elizabeth II visited Booth House in Whitechapel, the headquarters of homelessness charity the Salvation Army. Wearing clothes of mourning, the Queen made her visit only four days after the death of her sister, Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon. While the monarch focused her conversations on the work of Booth House and the experiences of those living there, the Queen was asked by one member of the public how she was coping with the loss of her sibling.
