Months ago, I bought a $1000 1982 Porsche 924 with the intention of fixing it up for my wife. I've been working on it for the last couple weeks and it's an absolute mess! There's all sorts of random wiring and it won't stay running. It also likes to catch on fire. Check out our video to learn more!

The 924 is a really odd vehicle - it's a part's bin special; meaning it has parts from several different VW and Audi products within. It also uses a fuel injection system called CIS or Bosch k Jetronic that is great when it works, and complicated to fix when it isn't. Many owners LOVE these cars because of the handling and the driving position. And, you can buy one for cheap.

All I knew about this particular Porsche is that it had some service records of a recent clutch replacement, which was very expensive, and that it needed tires and brakes before anything really could be done to it. I didn't think it was much of a risk to give it a shot, so I brought it home to the garage.

Through various attempts at getting the timing right on the motor, it caught on fire a couple of times, but we eventually got it dialed-in, and it runs off of starter fluid. However, at this point in my life, if I am to be working on projects, they at least should be running. I have young kids at home and so I really don't have much time to continue working on these, and so I'm thinking about letting them go to get some sort of family adventure vehicle for overlanding and the @Gambler500 .

What do you think? Should I keep it or let it go?
