The Jeep Avenger is an all-new kind of Jeep. For a start, it's been designed, built and sold in Europe, with no plans to currently enter the US market. Not only that, but the Avenger is Jeep's first all-electric model, and (hold on to your hats) it's front-wheel drive.

These might not sound like the ingredients for a great Jeep, nor does that fact that the Avenger shares its basic platform with Stellantis stablemates such as the Vauxhall Mokka Electric and Peugeot e-2008. However, in this CarGurus UK review, Chris Knapman explains how Jeep's designers have gone the extra mile to make the Avenger feel truly distinctive, and in a way that blends form with functionality.

Underpinning the Avenger is a 54kWh lithium-ion battery that gives an official WLTP range of 249 miles. Its 156 horsepower electric motor results in a 0-62mph time of 9.6 seconds, but in reality the Avenger feels much quicker and more responsive. It also has decent practicality for a small SUV (including a 355-litre boot), it's good to drive, and with prices starting at around £36,000 it's reasonably competitively priced.
