Grand Canyon Training Vlog 67 covers my continued quest to run the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim in 16 hours. I've been seriously chasing this goal since 2018 and to a lesser extent, since 2015.

I set out to do the hike for the first time in 2015 but failed. I only made it halfway. I returned in (2017) and succeeded at crossing the distance in 20 hours 38 minutes. In 2018 my goal was to do it in 16 hours.

Carl Dobbins, one of my very best friends, joined me in this quest. I failed. I fell victim to nausea and my hopes of hitting 16 hours faded away. I did eventually cross the distance, after an overnight stay near the ranger station at Phantom Ranch. My total time? 30hrs.

My plan was to go back in October to try again but I was sick and could not go. We also had to help a family member with some very severe health issues.

I continued to train but injuries piled up. I went back in 2019 and was able to do it in 19 hours. Now I am preparing to go back once again to try and achieve my goal of 16 hours.

These training vlogs will continue to document my training and preparation. I hope some of the information shared in these videos will add value to anyone who is interested. I also hope to share some insights that might help others that may have an interest in taking on a similar challenge.
