I recently finished this noise box and couldn't resist checking out digital effects. I turned a cigar box into a haunting war drum by adding delay and reverb.

This is a preview of how far piezo pick ups can take you. Here I'm trying to rhythmically smack the noise box. I'm using a pen that has a foam basketball ball at the end. Using an USB Audio Interface, I connected the noise box to Ableton and was able to leverage wild digital DAW effects. And before you comment, yes, my timing is terrible. After all I'm just whacking rubber bands on a cigar box.
