The Kia Niro costs too much.

I could end the review there, but that wouldn't be giving credit where it's due, because this is actually a really good electric car or hybrid hatchback / small SUV, if that's what you're looking for. You just need to be okay with spending too much to get one.

I say that because since I had this car, the market has shifted DRAMATICALLY, with more new EVs under $60K launching in the past six months than at any time before.

And that makes this otherwise very practical, likeable and liveable small SUV with electric or HEV hybrid power seem, well, behind the game. A shame, really, because it's bloody good in so many ways. If Kia Australia would just lop $10K off the EV price, I reckon it'd be even more popular, and far less overlooked.
