A brewery beer hall owned by the Bavarian State government! The Staatliches Hofbräuhaus in Munich, was founded in 1589 by the Duke of Bavaria, Wilhelm V. It is one of Munich's oldest beer halls. On this History Stories Special, we take a look at the logistics behind the operation – every day it welcomes up to 35 thousand guests. Historically, beer halls were often the venues for political meetings. In 1920, Adolf Hitler announced the official program of the Nazi party there, today they sell three tonnes of beer every day.
