Rio Xingu, the Belo Monte dam will be the third largest dam in the world in 2015, expected to supply energy for Brazil's growth. This pharaonic construction site is located on the border of the largest indigenous territory in the world. More than 20,000 Indians, around fifty ethnic groups, live around the Xingu River; they have never been closer to extinction. An armada of bulldozers digs up the earth and wipes out the forest.
The angry Indians recently went on the attack, they stormed the construction site. The workers also revolted against the working conditions, destroying the machines and part of the premises.
The massive arrival of 30,000 men shook the small town of Altamira where traffic exploded. Battalions of soldiers have been called in to help fight against the encroaching chaos.
