Your first line of defense in the event of an emergency plumbing leak, (and often the ONLY one!) is your main water supply stop valve, which is usually located where the water supply enters the building.

Unfortunately, these valves often go ignored and unused for years – until they’re needed in a hurry. And that’s when the occupant usually finds out that their “main line of defense” has called it quits on them! While it’s straightforward enough to replace an average stop valve with a bit of soldering know-how, how does one go about it if the water is delivered, controlled, and metered by the municipality? And what makes a main stop valve unique from all the other ones in the building?

This video will take you through all the steps necessary to allow you to upgrade your old, decrepit, “Builder Special” main stop valve, to a superior one, so that when you need it in a jiffy years down the road, it’ll do what it’s intended to do: Abruptly stop the flow of water coming into the building! Don’t wait until you regret having waited!
