When making a more limited game in a series known for its intense multiplayer action and realistic 3D-environment it’s always best to look back on the earlier games and take inspiration from their design and gameplay and reinvent them to fit more ideally with the handheld in mind. This was true for many games and ports on the Game Boy Advance library, but the one that stands out the most for being unique in its own right and being the earliest example of such practice was Mario Kart Super Circuit, the third installment in the Mario Kart series. Despite this, its effectiveness in putting in this practice has been met with mixed reception, some calling it one of the greats in the series and others calling it the worst of the bunch, so which is it really?
