In the past week, a few Freedom of Information Act requests were returned and they’ve been … interesting, to say the least… and really on-brand for our overall podcast theme about how the justice system simply works different for powerful people like the Murdaughs.

We are trying to get our hands on everything possible to try to find answers – specifically to the two biggest mysteries we’ve talked about on this podcast - the Stephen Smith case and what happened to the Murdaugh Money. 

On today's episode we're going to unpack memos from SLED outlining interviews with Alex Murdaugh’s siblings after Alex was finally charged with Maggie’s and Paul’s murders in the summer of 2022. Turns out there was a bloody towel found in the house the morning after the murders that no one knew about... other than Lynn Murdaugh, Alex’s older sister...

We'll also dive back deeper into Stephen Smith's case by learning more from his sister Stephanie.

And we'll have an update on Peter Strauss, the Captive Insurance expert lauded by Forbes magazine, that pleaded guilty in November to hiding millions of dollars from the feds, but still got to practice law, take vacations in Mexico and jet set around the world while under very lenient bond conditions.
