For almost four decades, vocalist Paula West has played some of the most important jazz venues and clubs around the world. Her unique blend of the classic American songbook along with the modern songwriters including Bob Dylan. She also has been on the frontlines using her art with social causes and political issues that are passionate to her.

Recently Paula played a weekend of sold-out dates at the famed Dizzy's here in New York City. We sat down and talked about how she survived COVID-19, the contemporary songwriters she's incorporated in her sets, and reflect on the legacy of Pearl Bailey.
