We all know how important footwork is...especially in JKD. To have bad footwork ruins our technique. Face it: it doesn't matter how fast or powerful you are if you can't get in and out of range. So the question is, how do we train for it? Well, just moving around isn't the answer. In JKD there's an integrated relationship between the ready position, the hitting, and the footwork. They're all happening together! That's always the key. Many of us get confused and think that moving around and scientific footwork are the same thing. No. Bruce Lee's Fighting Method is the art and science of moving...and that means the complete integration of hitting and moving.

With that said, in this video we show you one of our favorite focus mitt drills that helps both the holder and the hitter. It's a great drill to use as a warm-up for both parties as it develops great mechanics along with distance control, timing, and accuracy.

And don't forget to check out the YouTube channel of our special guests in this video, Ethan and Justin. The link is below.
