FDNY has 2 Mobile Command Centers, they are both 2004 Freightliner MT-55 with a 40 foot RV bodies. They are staffed by overtime field com personally and can be brought to scenes by transport companies. They are assigned to 10-60 Code 1 Major Matrix Boxes and Prolonged Fire Operations. They use the Mobile Command Centers for Large Scale Special Events such as Parades, UN General Assembly, New Years Eve, Burning of the Bread, US Open, St Patrick Day Parade and Thanksgiving Day Parade. The MCCs have around 30 Radios that can monitor any frequency in and around NYC. UHF, VHF, 800mhz, Scanners. They have a microwave and coffee maker. Sinks and toilets have been disconnected. Recently all radios have been updated.

The main purpose of the Mobile Command Centers are to take stress of Boro dispatchers at large scale events and to ensure safety and security at large events.

There is 2 Fire Spots and 1 EMS spot each gets 2 Dispatchers and a supervisor

Transported by Engine 93 or Engine 88

Mobile Command Center 2 Covers Manhattan & The Bronx
Transported by Engine 233 or Engine 230


There is a Mobile Operations Center that is a smaller version of the Mobile Command Centers that is used for smaller events but does not have the updated equipment like the MCCs.
