I was looking for a way to temporarily attach a fishing rod holder to a pontoon boat. Something that could just snap on, with out bolts or drilling holes. I ended up making a rod holder out of a piece of PVC pipe. I cut part of the top off, then used a heat gun to bend it around a form. That form was the same size as a pontoon boat aluminum railing.
The rod holders worked great, were cheap and easy to make, and as an added bonus - also clipped on to the slots in the dock.
