Back in 2007, Disney was already ahead of the curve with their own “What-If?” scenario: What would happen if a Disney Princess* were plucked from her world, and thrown into the cold, unforgiving kingdom known as New York?

While that sounds awesome on paper, the reality is almost as good. Enchanted had a solid premise, and is a solid movie on it’s own. It’s an homage to Disney Classics, while at the same time, being a new, modern interpretation on tales as old as time. It’s charming, incredibly well-acted, and very well-received.

At the same time, this movie has fallen by the wayside over time. Chances are you don’t remember it nearly as much as almost every other Disney musical to date. Enchanted is a good movie, but there’s a lot about this movie that played a role into it’s lack of staying power through the years. Some of it is because of the movie itself, while there’s a fair bit of meta difficulties that didn’t help either.

Like, do you know how hard it was to actually watch this movie? Your only options to watch Enchanted are either 1. Buy It online, 2. Play the used Blu-ray lottery at your local store, or 3. Pray that Disney puts it on Disney+ eventually. If it wasn’t for good ol’ Rasputin, this video wouldn't exist!

Not only did we forget about this movie, but Disney seemed to as well….at least until recently, when at long last, the sequel is finally due to come out.

Allegedly.
