On Thursday 4th February we took delivery of 2 brand new flat wagons for our Permanent Way Department. These heavy duty wagons will give our current lightweight flats a well earned rest and help use to carry the heavy loads of rail, sleepers and other materials as we continuously upgrade our track.

Built by Alan Keef Ltd of Ross-on-Wye, the wagons are capable of carrying 4 tons of load and feature braking on both bogies which is a first for a vehicle on the Ruislip Lido Railway. In this video we see the vehicles being unloaded and touching down on RLR metals, pictures of the production at the Keef workshops and some of the test running and a closer look at the wagons in our own workshops at Woody Bay.
