On Sunday 17th March, ballasting of the line in the Eleanor’s Junction area took place in order to re-open this section in time for Easter. It was a busy day of train movements with two ballast trains operating in between the advertised passenger service. Unusually, one of the trains was hauled by our steam locomotive Mad Bess for her first outing in 2024, having just had her annual boiler inspection.
