Destiny 2's Lore & Story tells us about how a cloudstrider dies under normal circumstances. In Lightfall we saw Rohan's dramatic death, but we don't get to see what happens when a cloudstrider reaches the end of their ten years of serivce. Tramontane, Rohan's mentor, did die like this.
