Destiny 2's Lore and Story from the Season of the Deep has so far shown a lot of promise. Whilst Lightfall's narrative has a lot of issues, the season of the Deep has opened with a strong story involving Xivu Arath, The Titan Sea Monster, Commander Sloane and The Witness's past.
