We designed a simple truss bridge. The limitations for the project was the bridge could only be min. 760mm span, max 300m high. Groups were required to design and build a "popsicle stick bridge". The bridge must support a specified design load of 22kg while minimizing overdesign in terms of amount of building material used in the construction.
Our bridge had a 780mm span, 200mm height and a calculated limit of 27.5kg.
After all was said and done, we capped out at 26kg and a total of 71 popsicle sticks.
