The Friars Club is a private club in New York City. Famous for its risqué roasts, the club's membership comprises comedians and other celebrities. Founded in 1904, it is located in NYC.

Don Rickles (1926-2017) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, and author, known primarily for insulting comedy. A headline performer at Las Vegas hotel-casinos and peripheral member of the Rat Pack via friendship with Frank Sinatra, Rickles received widespread exposure as a frequent guest on talk and variety shows, including The Dean Martin Show and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Late Show with David Letterman.

Johnny Carson (1925-2005) is an American television host, comedian, writer, and producer. He is best known as the host of The Tonight Show, Starring Johnny Carson (1962–1992). Carson received six Emmy Awards, the Television Academy's 1980 Governor's Award, and a 1985 Peabody Award. He was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 1987. Carson was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992 and received a Kennedy Center Honor in 1993.
