SOHBAT صحبت . meaning: companionship, consorting, side-by-side-ness. IMO this is the only way to “learn” raga music, which is all about “guided play” or “improvising persuasively” (paradox after paradox!) 😭😭😭 so when I am sitting with maestra #FaridaKhanum in #Lahore I try to “absorb-and-emit” what I am hearing (instead of trying to “unpack it” or “break it down”).
