Welcome back to my series where I complete the "ultimate dungeons" in PMD games! An ultimate dungeon is a 99F level-reset dungeon where you can't bring in items, and I will complete all of them from official PMD games to ROM hacks. As an additional challenge, I won't be allowing quicksaving or rescuing, so I need to beat it in one go.

In this video, I complete Destiny Tower. This dungeon has 99 floors, temporarily resets your team's levels to 1, only allows you to bring one Pokémon, prohibits you from bringing in items or money, disables your team's IQ Skills, makes traps stay invisible from regular attacks and item drops, and prevents rescuing. It is unlocked by drinking from Spinda's Juice Bar after graduating from the guild and having the location randomly appear on one of the cups.

Destiny Tower is a harder version of Zero Isle South added in Sky. Many of Pokémon, items, and floor layouts are the same, but there are no TMs (except in shops), locked doors, or Reviver Seeds. Yes, there are ZERO Reviver Seeds in Destiny Tower. You need to play perfectly to even beat the dungeon. Additionally, not only can traps not be revealed with regular attacks, but this dungeon has the Sky-exclusive Grudge and Random Traps, the two worst traps in the game. Even worse, all the annoying Pokémon from Zero Isle South that ruin your day are still here. There aren't any new stinkers until the 90s where the game has the audacity to spawn enemies with PERISH SONG. Your reward for completing this insanity is a Space Globe, which doubles the base power of all your moves. This sounds good at first, but base power hardly matters in terms of damage calculation, so it's kinda useless. Still a nice trophy to show-off, nonetheless (unless you Wonder Mail it in :P).

Since I've attempted Destiny Tower for years, I can complete it nearly every time. I've done it about 20-ish times in my life, and my Kangaskhan Storage on my physical Sky copy has a couple pages full of Space Globes. Honestly, sometimes I'll even pull out my DS and do a Destiny Tower run as a time-killer. A lot of the runs I lose are to bad RNG, which is actually really hard to avoid here. A handful of things need to go right for you, otherwise you'll be limping along for several floors.
