Media freedom in Zimbabwe remains restrictive despite a huge decline in arrests of practitioners witnessed over the last couple of years.
Authorities claim the country has shifted from its tainted past where freedom of expression was restricted and voices critical of the government were muzzled.
Activists and opposition lawmakers however feel the Zimbabwean government has failed to break with the past falling short of its promise to allow freedom of the press and access to information.
