During Kabbalat Shabbat services at Temple Israel (West Bloomfield, Mich.), Rabbi Josh Bennett asked all congregants to make out a name badge as they entered into the Sanctuary as part of his sermon.

Rabbi Bennett shared that January is no fun because we all start the year with resolutions related to diets, habits and other commitments that take the fun out of the month. Now that we are into February, this a month when fun is restored and all resolutions have been broken. According to TIME Magazine, 80% of resolutions are given up by end of January and only 8% remain by end of calendar year.

Rabbi Bennett explains that the Torah teaches us that is hard to go at it alone. That just like with our resolutions, with other people by our side, we achieve our goals and have success. Only if we know each other, we will be able to ask for the help. If we do work together, we can be better.
