Violinist Yang In-mo came to global recognition nabbing the first prize at the 2015 Paganini Competition. It was the first time since 2006 that the jury awarded the top prize.
Since then, the 26-year-old musician has performed around the world and released two albums. In this interview with The Korea Herald, Yang reveals the inside of his violin case, including the knickknacks with which he has decorated the case.
More importantly, the case contains the tools of the trade. Berlin-based violinist carries around four bows with him, including a Fiddlerman bow that he bought on Amazon for 50 dollars. Here, he explains why he needs the bow that is made of carbon fiber.
Yang also introduces his unique violin, on loan from an anonymous donor.
