Unboxing gameplay of new Steam Deck portable AAA gaming PC. Best handheld gaming PC so far? Too early to say, but it does have a great price point. Nintendo Switch / PlayStation Vita console style gaming experience but with PC games. Grand Theft Auto V, Cyberpunk 2077, Peppa Pig, Doom, Call of Duty Ghosts, Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Dying Light 2 gameplay. Thanks to Valve for sending this review sample.

Please note: I've only had the Steam Deck for few days. This is rather an unboxing and first impressions video than an in-depth review. My first impressions on the hardware are positive but more games need optimization and support for Steam Deck. Only about half of the games I tried worked. Also hoping to see many more non-Steam apps. 120Hz OLED display with smaller bezel would be nice as a premium variant option on a next gen Steam Deck.

Steam Deck does push out hot air from the exhaust but stays "cool" to hold. I did not notice anything unusual or feel uncomfortable holding it during gaming. Steam Deck feels bigger and heavier than a Nintendo Switch so you may want to rest your hands against a surface when gaming.

According to early reviewers Steam Deck's battery life has been about 80-90 minutes on 60FPS lock setting for example in God of War and Forza Horizon 5. This of course also depends on the in-game settings you're running (also brightness, volume etc). On 30FPS lock setting the battery can last much longer, especially if running graphically less demanding game. I'm yet to run any tests of my own so I'd recommend checking out the battery life tests from various review sites.
