How much light to do chickens need? My young chickens were nervous about going into the dark chicken coop at night, so I added these solar powered LED night lights to make them more comfortable. These smaller LED landscape lights don't give off enough light to be used when forcing chickens to lay eggs through the winter. Just enough to let them see the roosting bars in the coop at night. Kinda like a full moon night.
